Khanpur
Khanpur is a city and capital of Khanpur Tehsil of the Rahim Yar Khan District, Bahawalpur Division, in the Punjab province of Pakistan. It is the 45th largest city in Pakistan by population according to the 2017 census.
Khanpur is a major producer of cotton and sugarcane. Khanpur Tehsil is one of the largest in the Rahimyar Khan District in terms of land. Khanpur is also called Khanpur Katora, which translates to "bowl" in Hindi. The Khanpur region is home to the renowned Cholistan desert. the Cholistan Desert and Derawar Fort are popular tourist destinations here. Culture and Heritage
For creating clay bowls, this city is also known as Khanpur Katora. The city is famed for its sweets, particularly Khoya, Peras, and Sohanhalwah, and the region produces "oranges" known as "Khanpuri Malta" among fruits. The Punjabi Riasti and Mahi dialects are spoken by the residents of this city. Khanpur had a population of 156,152 people in 2009. The bulk of the population, however, is Muslim. Both men and women wear shalwar Kameez. However, manas also wear dhoti with a long shirt. Punjabi, Saraki, Sindhi, Urdu, and English are the major languages that can speak and understood.
The Gakhar Chiefs were instrumental in molding the region's history. Khanpur's citizens' primary source of income is agriculture. Suger Cotton, Rive, Wheat, and vegetables are the main crops farmed in the area. In Kanpur, veggies, particularly carrots, are quite popular throughout the winter season. Khanpur was once a prominent cotton-growing zone, but it has now transitioned to a major sugarcane-growing region. Khanpur is also known for a well-known khanqah, the khanqah-e-aaliya qadriya, which is located in Deenpur Shareef, a tiny village approximately 10 minutes travel from Khanpur Railway station. Hazrat Maulana Mian Siraj Ahmed Sahab and his son Hazrat Maulana Mian Masood Ahmed sahib, as well as Mian Muhammad Anwar Zeeshan sb, the first scholar in the history of Deenpur sharif, are two well-known religious figures (wali Allah).
