Kohat
Kohat is a city that serves as the capital of the Kohat District in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. It is regarded as a center of the Bangash tribe of Pashtuns, who have lived in the region since the late 15th century. With a population of over 220,000 people, the city is the fourth-largest in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the 35th-largest in Pakistan in terms of population.
Guava is a popular fruit in Kohat. Within Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kohat, there is the largest wildlife park. Its incredibly diverse topography supports a wide variety of migratory and native animals and birds, as well as a few reptiles. However, the park is bounded by three different villages, Tanda Banda, Bar, and Kaghazi. Tanda Dam, which is located on Tanda Lake is also located in Kohat which is a protected site under the Ramsar Convention.
Kohat is the capital of the Kohat district, which encompasses a number of small villages with their own distinct but nearly identical civilizations, demonstrating the huge similarities in cultures and customs. Gumbat, Khushal Garh, Qamar, and a number of other villages are among those mentioned here. Kohat is a prominent cultural center in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, as one of the country's oldest cities. Shalwar Kameez with waistcoat and Peshawari chappal is the most common outfit for men and women. They wear khaddar garments and woolen shawls in the winter, which have become part of their culture now.
Although no single language is spoken in Kohat, the main languages spoken in these areas are Pushto and Hindku (also known as kohati). As we get further out from the city, Hindku, which is widely spoken throughout the district, changes its pronunciation and words. Machi and Thalochi dialects are two additional names for hindku used by these people.
Chapli kabab is a popular dish among Kohat residents and visitors alike. Handmade leather purses, Peshawari chappal, hardwood furniture, and gold jewelry are among the region's best-known handicrafts. There are also other shrines belonging to renowned religious saints and scholars, including Mian Fateh Shah and Sufi saints Haji Bahadar Ali Abdullah Khan. However, in the eighth season of the American political thriller Homeland, Kohat plays a pivotal role, particularly in the episodes Threnody(s), in full flight, and designated driver.
