Jamshoro is a diverse city, home to various ethnic groups, including Brahuis, Punjabis, and Muhajirs. Islam is the dominant religion, making up 95.07% of the population, while Hinduism is followed by 3.87% (including those from Scheduled Castes), and Christianity by 0.98%. Not only is Jamshoro a historical monument, but it also serves as Sindh's largest educational hub, hosting three major universities. This contributes to the city being one of the most attractive and peaceful in the province, drawing students from across the region. As a result, the literacy rate stands at 46.47%, with males at 55.14% and females at 36.71%. The traditional dress of Jamshoro is a significant part of its cultural identity. Men typically wear the traditional shalwar kameez, paired with a Sindhi cap and Ajrak, symbols of honor, respect, and pride for Sindhis. Women, on the other hand, wear heavy traditional garments called Sindhi bhart, which are often adorned with mirror work and hand embroidery. A special variety of this garment, known as Hurmoocho, is unique to the region. Colorful dupatta or Chunri, worn by women, adds a vibrant touch to their attire. Other traditional items include the Ralhi, a quilt featuring appliqué work, which is used as a bedspread and for decorating walls, among other uses.
