Nagar is a former princely state and one of the ten districts of Gilgit Baltistan, Pakistan. The valley is along the Karakoram Highway on the way north of Gilgit's main city. The valley is home to many high mountain peaks including Diran Peak (7265m), Rakaposhi (7788m), Rush Peak, and Golden Peak.

Apart from these incredible peaks and glaciers, the Nagar Valley is worth visiting for its lush green slopes, hidden glacial lakes, beautiful towns, and villages. Nagar is a popular destination for explorers and hikers. The Karakoram hills and valleys can be seen from Nagar. Barpu, Bar Ter, Taghafari, Sumayar Bar, Kacheli, Hapakun, Gappa Valley, and Silkiyang are only a few of the well-known high-altitude meadows in Nagar.

Burushaski and Shina are the main languages spoken in the area. Nagar is home to 60% of Brusho's population. The region is largely Sunni Muslim, and Shina is the primary language spoken, with Pashto emerging as a new language in the region as a result of Pashtun settlers from surrounding Kyber Pakhtunkhwa Districts. People also understand Urdu and English.

Males wear various types of woolen caps because they consider it an honor. They commonly wear a shalwar kameez, a woolen cap, and a long or short-sleeved woolen robe. The traditional cap, on the other hand, is the most elegant feature of a woman's outfit. Caps of several sorts are used. The lovely embroidered Iraghi cap with the traditional piece of jewelry called silsila is the most popular cap. Caps are commonly used in Nagan, especially at ceremonies such as bridal makeup. Women typically wear a bright frock or a flowy shalwar kameez, as well as an Iraghi cap. In this region, the well-known trio band music is played. Men like dancing in their traditional ways to the beat of this loud music. Nagar's people have some extremely lovely and distinctive dances. Old Man Dance, Cow Boy Dance, and Sword Dances are common during festivals, traditional events, and ceremonies. In the Nagar valley, food is made with light aromatic spices and little oil. The traditional dishes of Nagar Valley are Tikka Chilla, Mixed Vegetable Soup, Bakala jo soup, Date and Walnut Cake, Machi Bhat, Potato Curry, Chicken Saak, and rice. Yak’s milk is given special importance. It is used to produce butter with high-fat content. It is seen to be the best gift a family can give to another.
